Event Details:

Location - Paula and Raiford's Disco
(Downtown Memphis, TN)

Date - 11/09/2024

Time - 11:00pm until nothing is open
(We will also be at Earnstein and Hazel's before 11pm for a pre-party)

Cost - Nothin' (But we Love donations to Memphis Rox!)

The Party:

Cape Party is an annual event where we don capes, throw a rager, then hit downtown as a gaggle of caped hooligans, bequeathing capes unto everyone who asks for one.

The Freshly caped new friends then join the party too.

Eventually we run out of capes and just bar hop into the wee hours of the morning.

Story:

Cape Party started, as many good things begin, as a joke. In 2019 a group of climbing friends was preparing for one friend’s housewarming party. That individual facetiously requested 100 capes be made for the partygoers. The next day two goons went to the clearance rack at Joann’s and proceeded to spend the next 24 hours feverishly cutting and sewing capes. Capes were brought to the party, the group went to some bars and realized strangers wanted capes too, and a tradition was born.

In 2023 we began raising money for Memphis Rox, an amazing nonprofit climbing gym/community center (and place where the original friends met)

We want this to keep growing and spreading childish fun and fast friendships. Be a part of the continuing story!
